Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh is critical, suffers from brain hemorrhage
Ghazal legend Jagjit Singh is in Lilavati hospital in Bandra after he suffered from a brain hemorrhage on Friday.
His state is said to be very critical.
As per sources, doctors at the renowned Lilavati Hospital performed a life-saving surgery on him. The 70-year-old legendary singer is under observation now. His wife Chitra Singh is with him in the hospital.
Jagjit Singh was to perform at a concert in Mumbai yesterday. He was scheduled to perform Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi ghazals at a concert with fellow maestro from Pakistan Ghulam Ali at Shanmukhananda auditorium on Friday.
A representative of the Fever Entertainment which is organizing the ‘Fever unplugged concert’ told a private news agency, “Owing to the sudden hospitalization of Jagjit Singh, singer Hariharan is performing in his place.”
Industry and friends express their concern and prayers for the well being of the singer. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor tweeted, “Praying fr Ghazal Singer Jagjit Singh critically ill in hospital.”
