Ghazal maestro Jagjit is Dead
Jagjit Singh is no more!
After mesmerising billions of fans with his silken voice for decades, Ghazal king Jagjit Singh has left the world. He died in Mumbai on Monday after suffering from brain hemorrhage a few weeks back. He was 70. Jagjit Singh had been in hospital for several weeks.
Recipient of Padma Bhushan award, he was the man behind revival of ghazal genre in the sub-continent.
Jagjit Singh is survived by his wife Chitra Singh. Their only son Vivek Singh had died in an road accident.
