Kannada film star Darshan was arrested in Bangalore early on Friday for allegedly assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi.

The accused actor went to the house of Vijayalakshmi’s friend Vidya with whom she was staying. Darshan asked his wife return to his residence in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar here, which aggravated the situation. Sources also said that the actor threatened his child.

Vijayalakshmi, now in a hospital, is responding well to treatment according to the doctor treating her.
